MindBodyPerform was founded by Julia Frearson in 2013. The primary aim is to integrate body and mind focused science and wisdom to promote compassionate mentality. Through carefully arranged sequences of movement, psychoeducation, breathwork and visualisation individuals, groups, coaches and organisations are trained and supported to cultivate a balanced central nervous system, growth mindset and consistent performance.
About Dr. YogaJulia
Julia Frearson has been teaching yoga in Gloucestershire since 2011 after completing an intensive training in Astanga with David Swenson. She went on to complete her 200hr teacher training with yoga campus in London in 2013, which included further Astanga training with Richard Freeman. She is now qualified at the 500hr advanced teacher training level with Orange Yoga School. In 2021 trained as a specialist Yoga teacher in sports with a unique qualification held by only a few.
Julia is also a clinical psychologist and combines the two fields to create a unique approach to her classes and 1:1 work. She integrates several models of talking therapy but leans to compassion focused therapy, relational models and neurophysiological approaches. Currently working to lead therapeutic developments in Gloucestershires Eating Disorders Service, she has also specialised in Autism, Trauma, Learning Disabilities and Children and Families. She is committed to sharing the yogic wisdom that she fell in love with as it increasingly has brought more balance to her own mind and body. She tries to do this with humour, humility and care.
As an everyday athlete Julia also provides specialist input to the local Running, Performance Gym and Climbing community. She was one of the first yoga teachers to teach SUPYoga, teaching in Gloucester Historic Docks since 2017.
Compassion will prevail!
