Autumn at MindBodyPerform

This year MindbodyPerform has been at its busiest and most varied yet. December brings us finally to the end of a longstanding love (?) affair with the Warehouse Climbing Centre. New venues, new connections and new community presence is welcome. There will be many more adventures to write about - including collaborations with local musicians, performance gyms, the development of a nuanced teacher training for local yoga teachers and the delivery of specialist workshops - unique to me. And don’t worry - I will be delivering content to the new 270 Climbing Centre -just working out the finer details now! Which is fab as I am just getting my climbing vibes back again.

September saw the pilot of a seasonal retreat with Spinavita Chiropractors, while October saw a sold out compassionate psychology workshop with Rosieglo Yoga. I taught my three, weekly, classes - with numbers continuing to grow. Most proudly maintaining a high proportion of men in my classes, which is not surprising given the attention to sequencing for the male body and psychology over the years. Providing a genuinely welcome space for everyone - especially those stiff and sore from sports performance. In November I am running a body weight training for Aerialists and Polers workshop - only a few spaces left for that. I am super excited to be collaborating with Blackfriars Priory - we’re meeting today in fact (any excuse for a Hetty’s treat!).

I continue to offer sports assessments - developing mind body sequences for people of all capability. My blended therapy approach is now fully established with more spaces available in the new year. We’ve even prepped the home study so I can practice my own movement more and offer some on line sessions.

All in all - business is going well BUT I still depend on those of you support me, by coming along to sessions, organising events, and sharing my details to the people you know. I urge you to keep on sharing the joy of our club with even more people who may not have heard the buzz. Let’s see if 2025 can be the year that compassion becomes the trend around us.

Things are really great!

Just a little check in to say that things here at MindBodyPerform are looking good! There have been so many fabulous collaborations organised - including a climbing workshop with the mindfulclimber, bodyweight training for Aerialists with Momentum Pole and Aerial, compassionate psychology and yoga workshops with Rosieglo Yoga AND an awesome debut wellness retreat with Spinavita Chiropractic.

On top of that I continue to offer private psychology sessions, 1:1 yoga and sports yoga assessment. These are all flourishing and bring me a lot of purpose. I look forward to adding more of these into my week as the business grows.

The three weekly classes I teach continue to grow in numbers and we have a wonderful community of humans to share space and time with. My heart is always full from these classes - so much joy and fun together in movement and social connection.

I have contributed to two pieces of research exploring yoga in health care and am in discussions with a yoga therapy programme regarding teaching. I also wrote the foreword for and reviewed another book - the mindful climber.

Started to write my own book - compassionate coaching in sports.

There are new designs in my clothing line - helpfully modelled by my partner Brad!

I have an autumnal restorative yoga session to organise with Blackfrairs priory! One of my favourite locations….

I am thoroughly enjoying seeing my business of 12 years begin to grow wings and fly!

Thank you of being part of the journey with me.

Where have I been?!!!

So since building this website I have been incredibly busy. Not just in my NHS role but in my personal life too. However my little business has continued to flourish and grow and it starting to gather momentum. Whilst I have been able to keep my Facebook and Instagram social media ticking over throughout - my website has had sporadic updates! I am just working through the pages to update them.

This last year has been interesting - navigating my own injury. There is plenty changing to MindBodyPerform alongside the usual classes if the last decade or so.

In June I collaborated with Gloucesters Blackfriars Priory to run a lovely Sunday restorative yoga session.

In July I am contributing to 4 different local NHS teams bringing yoga and mindfulness. I am also launching my independent therapy practice. I’m also hosting 4 supyoga sessions!

In September I’m running a mini retreat with Spinavita Chiropractors - who are amazing. I am also hoping to run a NEW class at Momentum Pole and Arial Studio.

In October I am delivering another compassionate psychology and yoga workshop at Rosieglo Studio.

That’s a good few months of activity updated! And still lots of plans for more - newsletters, collaborations, possible new locations, more retreats!

See you soon

SUPyoga Retreat was awesome

On the 7th Sept we embarked on a joint project to bring happiness to the lives of 9 lovely people. Me and Kev Brady of SupGloucester organised a simple retreat that ensured the main ingredients were Paddling, yoga, humour and restoration in nature. So far feedback is so positive that we have already provisionally booked accommodation for two retreats in 2019😊. We loved sharing our favourite things and making new friends over good food, activity and a cheeky glass of wine. Keep an eye out for next years retreat dates🙏🏼😘✨xx
